The Nigerian Journal of Communication (TNJC) is a scholarly, academic, professional and interdisciplinary journal of the African Council for Communication Education (ACCE), Nigeria Chapter. It is devoted to research and professional practices in all functional areas of communication. It is published in the tradition of the well-known international journal of the ACCE, the African Media Review, a quarterly journal of communication based at the headquarters of the pan-African organisation (ACCE) in Nairobi, Kenya, which has been in publication since 1986.
The Nigerian Journal of Communication (TNJC) is essentially Nigerian but with the current globalisation trend, it also sets its focus on African continent and beyond. It is published to fill a long existing vacuum in the area of broad-based scholarly professional communication journal in Nigeria as well as to supplement the very few significant communication and communication-related journals on the African continent. In addition to being scholarly, it is also practice and policy-oriented.
TNJC uses a double blind peer review policy to assess all papers submitted for publication. In very limited occasions, the paper could be assigned to an Expert Blind Peer Reviewer and decision on the paper is largely based on the outcome of the blind peer review exercise. The Journal will go ahead to accept a paper for publication only when the two blind reviewers recommend acceptance. Whenever there is a tie, one reviewer recommends acceptance and the other recommends rejection, the paper will be resent to a third reviewer to ascertain the fate of the paper/article or book review.
TNJC operates on a Free and Open Access platform online to help increase the visibility of the Journal, the papers published in the Journal and the authors who published in the Journal. Manuscript should be submitted online or to TNJC via the Editor-in-Chief’s email address at: accepresident.ng@gmail.com OR jamwaala@gmail.com OR ACCE’s Email address at: acce.nigeria@gmail.com
